Our Easter

The Easter holidays are now over and whilst we have been away in Kent we have been doing some home school bits as well as taking advantage of a more lax routine.
It's been a nice break but it is odd that for now the children aren't going back to a school for the foreseeable future. I wanted to share with you all what we have been up to over the 'official' Easter holidays.

It started with a lovely visit from my sister and her partner who are based in Nottingham. They haven't been back to Cornwall for nearly a year so it was lovely to see them both. We all went out to a restaurant called Kota Kai in Porthleven which is where my parents live. There wasn't a huge a mount of options but I loved my starter of scallops and my main was hake with Asian salad. The children had a lovely time seeing family by the beach.

The birthday girls with their cakes!

We always celebrate both my sister's and my Auntie's birthday in March. My sister's birthday is a day after hers so it's a family tradition! I made my Aunt a cake and Mum made a lovely sponge cake for Issy.

I know it's not technically an Easter holiday thing but for memories sake, I wanted to include Midges beautiful Easter tree that she made for the school Easter fayre.

The guys were given several lovely cards by their class teachers and classmates for the final day of school. L was really quite emotional. A was okay until he saw how upset his big sister was, but they both had a lovely last day.

Back to Kent. We decided to do some projects to get through the holidays and one that went down really well was our Skittles experiment. That was really fun and super easy.

Adding skittles to water

L was excited to start the experiment!

We had a lot of fun in the garden over Easter too. Seeds were planted and have been taken care of on our windowsills, the soil has been turned over and we have a lovely selection of flower seeds and herbs to sort through and plant which will be fun.
We also ploughed through the Star Wars films and had some park visits. I think it was a successful Easter holiday and the children had a lot of fun too.

What did you get up to over the holidays? I'd love to know.
