The Lego Movie- Everything Is Awesome!

Yep, thanks to suppose.com we have recently been able to watch and review this fantastic movie (and get the very popular theme song firmly rooted in our ears!) Both Midge and Little A were beyond themselves with excitement when they opened the little package containing the DVD yesterday. They both play with Lego, not the small stuff, the bigger Lego for now but I'm pretty sure it won't be long before the little tubs start arriving at my house..possibly for Christmas!

The Lego Movie follows the main character Emit, an ordinary builder getting along in Lego City and his job when he is mistaken as 'the special one'. He proceeds to go on a journey with many well known and wonderful Lego characters to travel through different worlds desperately searching for the 'Piece of Resistance' that will help save the world!

I shall say no more! I, a notorious film hater, didn't pay much attention until the end of the film when I realised this was no ordinary animated movie and proceeded to re watch it before school this morning with the children..It was Awesome! The children loved it, my husband thought it was great too!

For adults and children alike, this is one movie not to miss.

We were sent a free copy of The Lego Movie DVD for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my (or my families) own.

Listography~ Top 5 toys for Christmas

Yes a bit late on the old Listography but I had to think about it quite hard for some reason. Anyway, here are my top 5 toys for Christmas, I've been interested in reading other bloggers Top 5 faves as well and look forward to seeing the list of Christmas toy no-brainers!! Although, I have done my Christmas shopping already..hmmm.
1.Lego
When I was a little girl I was not in to Lego or any building thing to be quite honest, and I do find it's a very expensive 'toy' to buy hence why I still don't own any. But recently I bought The Sun newspaper for the sheer fact they were selling Lego, and 2 were in the form of Harry Potter so I was very pleased. I noticed Little Miss loved it straight away so I've decided that if i see anything on sale or even second hand I may consider buying it and chucking it in with the big building blocks!

2. Dolls House
My younger sister had a dolls house for a very long time and we often played a little bit with it. I think sometimes a dolls house isn't just for playing with it's also for building up a collection of items and showing it off. My sister even made little bits to put in her house and she loved it for years. It was well worn when she passed it on..Little Miss doesn't seem too in to the idea of dolls houses right now but I'm sure in a couple of years it'll be on the list for Father Christmas!

3.Barbie
I loved getting a Barbie if I ever had it down on my list. A lot of little girls are pretty happy with any Barbie and I think she's fab as long as people don't read in to her too much. As a youngster I don't remember thinking half the things people mention now. Now, Barbie with tattoos and video cameras is a bit too far for me, i think Barbie is great for role playing character...Princess Barbie in my house is very quickly 'Super Barbie'. Love imagination.

4.Toy Trains
I love wooden train sets! Little Miss likes them and I'm pretty sure Little Man does too! I think I might go buy one with my vouchers that are left now that this one has jumped out at me! Do people still buy these train sets?

5.Craft Sets
Must be a winner for most people and I love them too! We bought Little Miss one last year and it's still going strong minus a few  a lot of pieces missing all in name of a good cause (sticker wall anyone?) Children can be kept busy for ages with some drawing/sticking etc and I think every child should get a nice, big craft set just once, as it lasts for a very long time (with refills!!)

Mummy's' Bed

Little Miss has come down with a rather nasty cold. The title of this post would go some way in saying what the situation is. Yes after 3 hours she has done it;  Little Miss is in my bed so there will be no sleep for me tonight. We did make a bargain about Daddy coming home and then swapping back to her own bed but considering he doesn't arrive back until 1am I think I may have lost my sleep completely tonight.
She is sitting beside me currently feeling very sorry for herself, not even able to grab her milk (she can she is just taking full advantage of Mummy Service) and sniffing whilst putting her finger up her nostril then immediately complaining about how sore her nose is. Tell me, when do toddlers fully grasp understanding? Anytime soon? Nope, thought as much.

Anyway, a part from us all feeling sorry for ourselves (Miss because of her cold and sore nose, Mr because he can't fully figure out just how to keep that darn banana in his grasp, Other Half because he has to go and slice bacon at work when he just well, doesn't much feel like it tonight and me because I'm left the first 2 and missing the last one) We generally had a good day.

I had an amazing lunch (okay it was jacket potato with beans) but it was from a tiny food shop in my local town and I have never had potato skin taste so damn good! It was just perfect. I didn't eat it as soon as I bought it because I added my own butter, some salt and salad leaves It cost me £2.25 which is pretty shocking as I know at home I can make one for less than that, but I felt good about supporting a small business and I couldn't bake one as nice as that. That's my defense anyway.

Another highlight of my day was spotting these super small apples on the ground when I walked Little Miss to nursery. I didn't have my camera as I have a tiny handbag so I just collected them up and then photographed them:

Also today i started off my collection of Lego from The Sun Newspaper. I just fancied a paper this morning and happened to be wondering which one to buy when I picked up this one (only because I noticed today's give away happened to be Harry Potter) so I thought 'why not?'

Little Miss was impressed anyway (currently pointing at the laptop screen) I had fun popping it all together. I never played with Lego when I was a child and I don't really know why. I hope my 2 can get into it, and if The Sun Newspaper kicks start it then well, at least they have something.

Ooo Other Half just walked in the door (I love surprises!)
